Is a Boston Terrier Right For You?
Boston Terriers are a smooth coated and short-haired breed. They are a friendly dog, playful, very active and require a moderate amount of exercise. They are extremely intelligent, good watchdogs, devoted to their family and require few demands in physical care. Their color should be brindle, seal or black and white with white markings. They do not tolerate extreme temperatures of heat or cold very well and should be a house dog.
Doo-Shay History
After raising Pomeranians for many years and producing Group Winners, I was looking for a slight diversion. About 10 years ago, I happened to acquire a Boston puppy quite by accident which I believe was the best accident I ever had. Since then, the Boston population at Doo-Shay has grown quite a bit. Each Boston that lives here is spoiled beyond limits and all puppies sold are well on their way to being housebroken. Our Boston's live in the house, not in the kennel. They are "bed buddies" and have had lots of love and socialization prior to leaving to their new home.
In addition to the Bostons, I have long coat and smooth coat Chihuahuas. The Chihuahua also makes a great family pet, if the children are patient and gentle. Due to the Chihuahua’s small and unique size, they can be easily injured and should be supervised with children under the age of 6. They are intelligent, very easy to train, loving and good little watchdogs. They are graceful and swift. They are sensitive to cold temperatures and should be considered as a house dog.
If you are looking for an extremely intelligent, active, and devoted breed, with few demands in physical care, a Boston or Chihuahua might be the breed for you. Thank you for stopping by to visit our little Boston and Chihuahua friends. They love company. Please contact me for further information.
